ALIADAS EN CADENAS

 

Aliadas en Cadena, is a non-profit organization that advances women’s human rights in Venezuela to support low-income women through training programs in technology (ICT). Their training courses have helped more than 9000 women to find and keep well-paying jobs and entrepreneurship’s projects, and to promote their economic security, health, safety, education and leadership.

Since 2006, the sustained growth and strengthening of Aliadas en Cadena as Social Development Organization is evident. They have developed a flagship program called “Aliadas en Tecnología” that consists on three main components: 1) “Escuela Taller” (designed for training in ICT and theempowerment of women of popular sectors, through the development of skills for employability); 2) “Cursos Comunitarios” (for women, men, youth, children and participants from community organizations for basic management

of ICT); and 3) “Estudiante Universitario” (community service).

The organization runs projects in five centers or open spaces to the community called “Núcleos Aliadas en Tecnología”, located in Caracas, Maracaibo, Barquisimeto,

and Valencia, in sectors with a high population of people belonging to the lowest socioeconomic strata. In 2016, they are planning to open a new computer center in Catia.
